Several network video cameras use the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" software to implement their internal RTSP server.

I am putting together a list of these cameras.

If you make use of a network video camera that uses our software, could you please send an email (privately to me, if you'd prefer not to send it to the whole mailing list), mentioning:
1/ The make and model of the network camera
2/ If known, which version of the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" software that it uses. (Often, you can see this in the SDP description that the server returns in response to a RTSP "DESCRIBE" command.)

Thanks in advance,

Hi Ross,
I deal a lot with different IP Cams - i am not a manufacturer but have
plenty of different models online so i can check if you are interested.

A positive and a few negatives for you:
Brickcom WCB-100Ap LIVE555 Streaming Media v2009.01.26
Axis M1011, 5.20.1 Unknown
Axis P1343, 5.40.9.6 Unknown
Vivotek IP8332, 0301c Unknown
Etrovision EV3151 RTSP Server (v1.2.5)
Dahua DH-SD42212S-HN Rtsp Server/2.0
Sony SNC-WR630 Linux/2.6.35.14_nl-xarina+ Ze-PRO
Sony SNC-XP600 Linux/2.6.35.14_nl-xarina+ Ze-PRO

I know Axis swapped to a new RTSP server for 5.60 but I don't have one to test at the moment.

Brickcom WCB-100Ap LIVE555 Streaming Media v2009.01.26
Is this running the most up-to-date version of Brickcom's firmware?

One of the implications of the LGPL is that Brickcom must, upon request, upgrade their firmware to use the latest version of the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" software, or else provide a way for you to perform this update yourself.

(This applies to *any* product that uses our software.)

It is not, and any attempts I've made to upgrade it have failed.
(It has various other issues that we have to live with too)

FYI, I have just sent a note to Brickcom, reminding them of their obligations under the LGPL, and asking them to release a new version of their firmware that uses the latest version of the “LIVE555 Streaming Media” software.
